With the holidays fast approaching, I wanted to put together a quick gift guide for nursing students and nurses alike. These items are either on my own personal wish list or items that I currently used.
I know typically most people ask for items that they would not normally buy themselves: The sort of extravagant gifts that are way out of our normal allowance. But this holiday season as I started my first true job, all I can think about it buying items that are functional for work and will last me through the years. Not just some fashion trend for the next six months.

The first thing on my list is ordering some new badge reels from my favorite company, BadgeBlooms on Etsy. As a nurse, we are constantly in scrubs with no real way to express our self-identity. Badge reels are the perfect cute and functional way to do just that!
Towards the bottom of my list, I have some new shoes! I feel like my feet start to hurt after back to back days in the same shoe that I need to rotate them out. Call me crazy, but I have like 6 pairs of shoes for work. Ranging from Dansko clogs to New balance sneakers. The most recent pair I have truly been loving are these Nurse Mates Align sneakers.
What is on your Christmas wish list?
I just received the scrubs (a day early). The colors of surgical scrubs are great. Nice, bold colors. I expected that they run large, so I went down in size. I carry most of my weight in the chest area and around my waist and hips and they fit great.
